Community Re-Entry Program

This program is designed for those residents with potential for community re-entry. Each resident has an individualized program designed to increase independence of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while participating in the vocational program or cognitive rehabilitation program for up to six hours per day.

Residents may have long-standing mood, thought, seizure, cognitive, and/or behavioral disorders that are stabilized by ongoing neuropharmacological management, behavior management, and/or environmental structure. These disorders may preclude clients from being able to maintain competitive employment, to live independently, or be able to return home to live.

The goals of the program include establishing and maintaining skills necessary for community re-entry while maintaining neuropsychiatric and behavioral stability. Residents must consistently demonstrate the ability to manage increased responsibilities and privileges. Behavior programming and the implementation of compensatory strategies are utilized for assisting residents in achieving higher levels of independence. For residents not showing significant or consistent gains, the program offers a more culturally normative environment.
