Specialized Neurorecovery Programs

We offer comprehensive rehabilitation for individuals who require intensive inpatient rehabilitative care. A multidisciplinary team of neuro-rehabilitation specialists provides a broad range of clinical services including physical rehabilitation, cognitive and behavioral retraining, assessment of assistive and adaptive equipment needs, caregiver education and training.

The unit also houses a suite in which family members may learn the skills necessary to provide care to their loved one prior to discharge home. Average stays on the inpatient unit range from 3 to 4 weeks, but vary depending on the individual's functional needs. Following completion of the program, individuals may choose to enroll in either the day treatment program or receive individualized outpatient therapies.

Spinal Cord Injury

A spinal cord injury usually begins with a sudden, traumatic blow to the spine that fractures or dislocates vertebrae. The damage begins at the moment of injury when displaced bone fragments, disc material, or ligaments bruise or tear into spinal cord tissue.

Most spinal cord injuries don't completely sever it. An injury is more likely to cause fractures and compression of the vertebrae, which then crush and destroy extensions of nerve cells that carry signals up and down the spinal cord between the brain and the rest of the body. Some injuries will allow almost complete recovery. Others will result in complete paralysis.

Post-Acute Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation

We are a CARF-accredited, post-acute rehabilitation facility which is nationally recognized as providing leading edge neurobehavioral rehabilitation. Our mission is to develop and provide state-of-the-art transitional, residential and vocational rehabilitation services for individuals who have a brain injury or neurological impairment due to the following:

  • Blast / Explosion
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Military / War / Paratroop Injuries
  • Stroke
  • Concussions

Behavioral, Emotional and Cognitive Treatment Programs

We emphasize practical treatment programs designed to meet the behavioral, vocational and community re-entry needs of our residents. Individualized programs are developed under the direction and supervision of a physician and implemented by neuropsychiatrists, physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, behavioralists, licensed physician assistants, living skill advisors, vocational counselors, licensed nurses and additional rehabilitation staff members. We offer a high staff-to-resident ratio allowing for personalized instruction, care and attention.
